Sewa International notable achievements for 2012

  • After Super-storm Sandy hit, our New York/NJ and Philadelphia Chapter volunteers served the needy by carrying meals to the elderly in high rises, and cleaned up debris in damaged homes.
  • An Annual Fundraiser program, Krishna Vyjayanti event by Prabhat Kala, India was successfully completed in 10 Sewa cities. The 13 Artists traveled 8000 miles in the US. This raised $300,000 in 4 weeks.
  • A major women empowerment program for manufacturing biodegradable plates from palm leaves was started in Orissa, India.
  • Rehabilitation program for the Oct 2012 AP/Karnataka Flood completed.
  • Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee rehabilitation program to help widows, orphans a generational civil war started.
  • A relief program helped needy Pakistani Hindus affected by the Sindh floods with blankets and ration.
  • Completed a school and medical clinic building in Kenya with two bore wells empowering local villagers.
  • Twelve youth and teens from the US successfully completed our Yuva for Sewa program in India.
  • Get Inspired Summer Internship program was conducted in 4 US Sewa Chapters enabling youth to serve the needy in the US.
  • Diwali Food Drive  was conducted in 11 cities in the US.
  • Cricket for Charity program was conducted in New Jersey, Atlanta, LA and Denver.
