WINTER CLOTHES:
On Dec 27th,2008 we dropped off some winter clothes at Dev ji's home at Manchester, NH and later visited Parsu ji. That box had around 10 winter jackets and few clothes. Definitely they need more. I am planning to collect few more and drop off this weekend. Please send a note to Satsangh and Azad shakha for the winter clothes/shoes/boots.

NEXT HELP: DRIVING LESSONS
They are looking forward to have our help in developing driving skills and getting the drivers license. So far, three people cleared written test by taking few hours from the auto school and one of them have a driving license and a car. At school, high school kids are learning driving. As I mentioned earlier, driving lessons costs $680 per person.

Bihar Flood Relief 2008

Sewa International Delivers a Mobile Clinic for Bihar Flood Victims - Dec 26, 2008

Even after four months, the floods in Bihar are forcing the victims to still live in camps and they continue to need immediate and long-term relief. This humanitarian crisis is worst that Bihar has ever witnessed.  There are miles and miles of inundated lands due to flood water all around, and many damaged roads and bridges are yet to be repaired. The Kosi river embankment is still being repaired and the repair work is expected to be completed in January 2009. Agriculture sector too has suffered major damage as the standing crops were washed away by the flowing water and the agricultural land has been filled with sandy silt of the river.
