With the able guidance and support from managers like P Ravi Sarma ji, Swadesh ji and Srikanth ji, Team Sewa scored an impressive win against the odds of Eye Ailments and skeletal finance in the match(read Eye Camp) held on Novermber 28, 2009 at Decatur.

Dr. Menon played the captain's innings by remaining unbeaten on 30 patients N.O (in fact, she tended to another regular patient after the Eye Camp. Talk about stamina !).
Openers Narayan ji and Sushil ji scored quick runs ferrying many patients to the match venue and back.

Later at Lunch, Surya ji joined like a pinch hitter and scored big boundaries in terms of patients ferried to and fro. His ability to score despite changing pitch conditions (people were added en route) deserves special mention.
Meanwhile, our younger players: Usha Kaila, Ananya Munjal, Akul Munjal and Malavika Mundkur (Dr. Menon's daughter and friends), Kamala Timsina, Manikala and Dambu Mishra( Nepali-English interpreters) showed remarkable maturity for their age and kept the score board ticking, hence providing stability.
Special thanks to Dr. Menon's friend (a lady of remarkable composure and humility just like Dr. Menon), Donna the optician and the Technician for their respective contributions.

Overall, we played like champions, the match went smooth and there was never a moment of not being in command.
On a more serious note, I am grateful for being given this opportunity to enrich my life from this experience.
This may be just one small battle won, considering that a lot more people still require Eye Treatment among other essential medical care.
However, as they say, "no one climbed a mountain just by looking at it".
thanks and regards,
