We invite you to a high-impact virtual Policy Café on Thursday, 11th December 2025, on “Disaster and the First 72 Hours: Local, National, and Global Reflections.”

Bringing together nonprofits across the world, the session will reflect on how organizations and communities act in those crucial first days after a disaster and what it takes to strengthen readiness for the challenges ahead.

Key topics include:

Mobilizing People in Times of Crisis: Explores how organizations harness people power effectively and responsibly, and how volunteers support emergency management with lessons from international practice.

Working Together When It Matters Most: Reflects on collaborations across government, nonprofits, CSR partners, and community groups, examining what helped build trust quickly and how partnerships evolved.

Organizational Structure for Effective Disaster Response: Examines models that enable rapid decision-making, decentralized coordination, and sustained operations, drawing from U.S. and global examples.

Resource Mobilization and Fundraising in Crises: Highlights successful approaches to securing and deploying resources quickly, ensuring that volunteer efforts and organizational capacity translate into timely, meaningful impact.
