Family Services |
“Family Services” - one of the premier projects of Sewa International USA, is aimed at assisting community members seeking help and guidance. It is a support structure for the community with the help of the community. We facilitate people in need with helpful information or by providing a volunteer who can help in distress situations. There is an unprecedented influx of Indian immigrants to the US, paralleling the growth of the hi-tech industry, and then followed the growth of international student’s population and Senior citizens as well . Understanding the culture-specific and unmet sociological service needs of these new immigrants, Sewa International began offering a variety of services in response. The Family Services Program leverages existing local community resources while bringing complementary services to serve the beneficiaries effectively. Awareness of, and access to, existing public or private social and humanitarian assistance are usually lacking for the underserved community. We offer proactive and need-based programs through volunteers and partnering organizations and professionals.
Sewa has adapted essential aspects of this program from Indian Circle of Caring, USA, Inc based in Boston, MA, with whom we have a collaborative relationship. |
