Sewa Phoenix is one of the newly started Sewa chapter and active with a wide range of projects and activities covering Health, Education, Community Development, Refugee Empowerment. Volunteer Engagement has been a key focus area with multiple volunteering opportunities and volunteering models to suit volunteers' time and interest.     Sewa Phoenix LEAD 2024

    (LEAD - Leadership, Education And Development) 

    Youth Engagement Program for High School Students


    General Eligibility: Incoming and Current High Schoolers (Grade 8-12). All participants should always exhibit commitment to the values of Sewa and act with integrity and discipline.

    Program Dates : January 1st 2024 to October 31st, 2024

    Selection Criteria: Limited seats; enrolled on a first-come first-serve basis. Open to all nationalities, religious and ethnic backgrounds.

    Registration Fee: $100 per student

    Registration Deadline: December 31st, 2023

    Commitment : Each participant is expected to commit to at least 35 hours of volunteering.

    As a part of the LEAD program, young adults are provided with opportunities to participate and / or lead various activities and to earn volunteering hours. Sewa International will provide certificates as well as a recommendation for Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for qualified participants.

    Here is sample list of activities:

    1. Park Cleanup

    2. Tutoring

    3. Environment and Sustainability

    4. Create your own DIY initiative to address community needs.

    5. Sewa Diwali Food Drive

    6. Fundraising to support Sewa Projects

    7. Community service activities
