As we prepare our homes for Diwali and look forward to sharing love, light, and mithai (sweets) with our loved ones, a severe humanitarian crisis unfolded along the Himalayan border.

A devastating mudslide and an ice-rock avalanche on the Lhende Khola river have triggered catastrophic flash flooding across Nepal and China's Tibet region. Entire villages, homes, and critical infrastructure have been completely swept away. The scale of destruction is profound.

Diwali is about bringing light to the darkest corners and practicing Seva (selfless service). This year, we are asking our community to pledge just a portion of their Diwali Mithai/Gifting budget directly toward emergency disaster relief.

Instead of buying that extra box of sweets, let’s redirect those funds to provide life-saving essentials to families who have lost everything. A small sacrifice from our celebrations can buy blankets, medical care, and clean drinking water for a family in deep trauma.
