Nepal Flash Floods 2026 — The Crisis Continues

On August 26, 2026, devastating flash floods and debris flows swept through communities along Nepal’s Bhote Koshi–Trishuli river system following a catastrophic glacial collapse.  The disaster has left a trail of death, destruction and displacement across northern Nepal.

Entire communities have been devastated.  Homes, roads, bridges, power facilities, water systems and other critical infrastructure have been destroyed or severely damaged, leaving thousands of families displaced and without reliable access to basic services.

The humanitarian emergency is now entering a critical recovery and rehabilitation phase.  Beyond immediate relief, affected families will need sustained support to rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, repair essential infrastructure and regain a sense of security and hope.

The waters may have receded — but the need remains.
