Registration for Sewa Austin DTL 2022 – $50.00

Design to Lead is an initiative by Sewa International for high schoolers (grade 8 through 12 students) in Austin from Jan 1, 2022 to October, 2022.

The program aims to expose our youth to socially conscious leadership principles through Stanford University’s Design Thinking methodology.

Students who complete this program may be eligible for Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)*.

*Student eligibility depends on their citizenship status. Per guidelines on this (website) only permanent residents and US citizens can apply for the PVS Award. All students will receive Sewa Internal volunteering certificate as proof of their contributions.

Design to Lead includes:

Design Thinking
- Weekly guest lecture from our National Design to Lead coordinator, and other academicians from Stanford University.
- Groups of 6-7 students and a mentor to apply Design Thinking to solve the given topic problem.
Interactions with socially conscious leaders of our community
- Monthly meetings with local CEOs and leaders of other non-profit organizations in the area.
Additional participation in Serve Austin volunteering activities, e.g.
- Highway, park and trails cleanup
- Grocery distribution drives for those-in-need
- - Hot meal drives for the homeless
  - Gardening and cleanup in temples
- More programs announced by ServeAustin team volunteers
