Giving Tuesday Let’s celebrate Thanksgiving with gratitude by giving back to those who need it most. |
Our Impact so far in 2025 |
| At Sewa International, every act of service stems from our commitment to uplift communities and bring hope to those in need. This Thanksgiving, join us in spreading warmth, joy, and care to countless families across the nation.
|
Empowering Communities Nationwide Through the AmeriCorps 9/11 Day of Service, we organized 153 events, mobilized 5,922 volunteers, and fostered partnerships across 16 chapters. Activities like tree planting, park clean-ups, and environmental stewardship campaigns continue to leave a lasting ecological and social impact. | Fighting Hunger and Food Insecurity Across the region, initiatives like Burrito Sewa and Sandwich Sewa have served over 5,000 families, while chapters in Portland and Seattle provide regular meals to shelters. Efforts in Sacramento supported local community events, and Los Angeles chapters operated food pantries for families in need. |
Disaster Relief and Community Outreach In response to Hurricane Melissa and the Texas Hill Country Flood, our volunteers swiftly acted, delivering truckloads of essential supplies to affected areas, distributing groceries, water, and medical aid, and clearing debris and helping rebuild homes. Our partnership with FEMA and local temples ensured shelter and support for hundreds of displaced families. | Championing Education and Sustainability More than 900 students from 27+ chapters participated in the LEAD National Youth Conference 2025. From organizing 5K Walk/Run events for fundraising to conducting workshops and seminars for seniors, our chapters are dedicated to empowering communities. Initiatives like the Treats for Troops Candy Drive and the Sewa Diwali Food Drive collected thousands of pounds of food to combat hunger. |
