Volunteer Development: Lead North Jersey, NJ

    LEAD is a Sewa International Volunteer Development Program for High School students.  It introduces socially conscious leadership in youngsters.   It provides a platform to the participants to serve the greater community and experience the joy of giving.

    It is also a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, teamwork, organizational skills, serve community and have fun along the way, in addition to achieving Sewa recognition and President’s award.

    LEAD offers volunteer opportunities to parents and families as well. 


    LEAD 2020 - Volunteer Development Program for High School Students

    Hereby we invite applications for LEAD NJ 2020 volunteer program.  A great opportunity to meet socially aware community leaders, develop leadership, teamwork and organizational skills,  serve community and have fun along the way besides achieving Sewa recognition and USA President’s award.

    Project Location: New Jersey (most activities will be around Parsippany)

    Duration: Starts February 8, 2020 and ends in September 2020. Minimum 100 hours to fulfill. Project and Event based activities.

    General Eligibility: High School Students ( in or incoming), i.e, current 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders.  Students need to be sincerely committed to the values of Sewa with integrity and discipline.  Parental involvement is required where needed. Parents have to commit at least 8 hours on a working day.

    Selection Criteria: Limited seats, on first come first serve basis. Equal opportunity employer. Open to all nationality, religions, gender. and ethnic backgrounds. 

    Program Fees: $100 / candidate. To pay the costs of the program.

    We accepted 62 applicants in 2019! The participants dedicated 100+ hours for Sewa from mid-March to end of August. 

    We accepted 42 applicants in 2018! The participants dedicated 100+ hours for Sewa, over 7 weeks from mid - March through end August.


    We accepted 33 applicants in 2017! The participants dedicated 100+ hours for Sewa, over 7 weeks from mid - July through end August.
